For my trips to Disney World, I’ve packed more clothes than we needed (sometimes waaaayyyy more than we needed), exactly what we needed, and just the bare minimum number of outfits with the intention of doing laundry mid-trip. I’ll admit that doing laundry on vacation isn’t my idea of fun, but over the years I’ve grown to like taking fewer clothes in our luggage and being able to wash clothes while we’re there.
I think that’s one of the reasons that I’ve really gotten spoiled on staying in a Disney Deluxe villa that includes a washer and dryer in the room. It makes it a lot more convenient than taking my laundry to the resort laundry room. Depending on the length of my stay and who is going on the trip, and now, on where I am staying, I pack clothing based on whether or not I’m going to do laundry on the trip or not.
It’s been several trips ago since I’ve used the laundry rooms at Disney World resort hotels, but since I am thinking that I will end up staying in a Deluxe Studio for my next trip (which does not have a washer and dryer in the room), I started checking into laundry rooms. It’s probably a weird thing to say, but I’m so happy that Disney uses the LaundryView monitoring system to let guests check for available washers and dryers in their resort laundry rooms!
In case you don’t know, LaundryView lets you look up available laundry machines at participating facilities. So from your computer or mobile device, you can look up the exact number of washers and dryers open and ready to use as well as see how much time in use machines have left in their cycles.
So, if you’re going to do laundry while you’re staying at a Walt Disney World resort, you might as well make sure you use LaundryView so that you don’t waste time going to the laundry room when all of the machines are in use. °O°
