My Disney World Hoarding

I’ve hoarded collected items from my Walt Disney World trips for as long as I can remember. I’m talking about things that I didn’t buy as souvenirs but I took home as souvenirs. Things like ticket stubs/cards, park maps, napkins, resort hotel maps, paper coasters, receipts (…I don’t know…), luggage tags, plastic shopping bags, etc.

I don’t even really know why I keep these things and hoard them bring them home. I have a very, very small amount of these things displayed. The majority of this stuff is hoarded in some storage containers that I bought specifically to hold this stuff because the collection grew too big for the box and several Disney World plastic shopping bags that I was keeping it all in.

Every once in a while I take stuff out of the containers and reminisce about past trips, but mostly I look through this stuff when someone asks or discusses something that makes me think, “Hey wait, I have a map from that year,” or “I still have my ticket stub from that trip.” And then I put it back in the container and remind myself to put the other random stuff in the container that I ran across earlier that week.

It seems like lately I keep running across things that are supposed to be in the collection container but somehow it ended up in the random drawer that I went into looking for something totally non-Disney related. For instance, I went into a drawer today to get an instruction manual for one of my cameras and next thing I know, I find all of these things:

Ok, so that Mickey Mouse reusable shopping bag wasn’t from Disney World. A friend gave that to me. And clearly the Warner Brothers shot glass isn’t Disney, but I got it during a trip in either 1998 or 2000 on one of our trips when we did some off-site shopping and such. The Star Wars container is actually something from Dollar Tree or something that my mom gave me a couple of years ago but I decided to throw it in this picture too because I wanted to and there’s nothing you can do about it.

Here’s more pictures because, why not? Y’all know you want to get a better look at some of this stuff.

Luggage Tag – I don’t remember what year this is from.
PhotoPass card- (Before MagicBands) I have more of these but I don’t know why I insist on collecting them.
Disney World Transportation Card – I have more of these but I don’t know why this one isn’t with the rest of the collection.
My Ticket Stub from the Rivers of Light Dining Package – 2017- We ate at Tiffins and I also hoarded a paper coaster from the bar there.
These were handed to me along with the map of Old Key West when we checked in August 2019 – I just threw them in my suitcase when we left because I hoard maps and times guides.
Old Key West Resort Map – We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa #5512 and I’m just now wondering why the building and room number weren’t written on this for us like Disney usually does. ??? Also, sorry I didn’t smooth this out or something…
This is a squirt toy that came with the kid’s meal at Restaurantosaurus in Animal Kindgom – I thought this was from a 2000 trip but maybe it was 1998?
The bottom of the same toy – Someone told me these were only given out in 1998 but my son was only 5 months old during our 1998 trip so I wouldn’t have gotten him a kid’s meal. I remember getting him one in 2000 though…

Ok, so that was actually fun for me. I love being able to look at some of these things I have hoarded collected and think about past trips. But I’ve really got to get all the random Disney World odds and ends all together in one place and do something with all of it. What that is, I don’t know. But I can’t seem to stop hoarding all of these things and I probably need to get rid of it, but that’s not happening any time soon. °O°
