My Disney World Favorite Moments of 2021- January

Ok, I know it’s February 1st and I’m pretty much a month late to the “best of 2021” reviews, but in 2021 I ended up being able to visit Walt Disney World four times. I live in Texas and I used to visit once a year, but after participating in my first runDisney 5k in 2014, I gradually started to find ways to make it possible to go to Disney World twice a year. Going twice a year is a big deal for me so when I ended up having four trips in 2021, I didn’t even know what to do with myself. I was super excited! It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve been to Disney World, every trip has its own special things that happen so there’s always some favorite moments that stick out for me. Here are my favorite moments of my trip from January 24-29, 2021.

Favorite Moment #1
My January 2021 trip was only planned about a month prior, but I was lucky enough to be able to get a deluxe studio at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. That was already a favorite moment before I even went on the trip! It was my first time to stay at this resort. I already wrote a post last year about how I liked that room so I won’t go into that again, but you can read that post HERE.

I had a garden view room but being able to walk over to the beach area of the resort and see the Grand Floridian, Cinderella Castle, the Contemporary resort, and all of the other beautiful views from that area was so great!

Favorite Moment #2
Crowds were still pretty low in late January 2021, so my next favorite moment is how low the wait times were for rides in the parks. I was able to ride the things I wanted (sometimes more than once) and I even rode a few things that I had never been on or hadn’t bothered to ride in years. For instance, I rode Rise of the Resistance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin in Magic Kingdom, and TriceraTop Spin in Animal Kingdom for the first time during this trip. It was so fun!

Favorite Moment #3
On my way back to my room after my Magic Kingdom day, I was the only one on the water taxi. It was the most relaxing and beautiful ride back to the Polynesian the entire trip! This was instantly a favorite moment.

Favorite Moment #4
The last favorite moment that I’ll mention here (because I could probably name so many others but can they all really be my favorite? I mean, yes, they can, but I’m trying to choose the best of the favorites 😊) is all of the amazing artwork I saw at EPCOT during the Festival of the Arts. The chalk art was the most memorable for me!

I know that part of the reason this trip was memorable for me is because I chose to go during a global pandemic, but it made for an interesting trip and I ended up really enjoying it. The parks closed earlier than normal and I spent more time in my room than I normally would, but it gave me time to relax more than I usually do when I’m at Disney World. I think this visit in January 2021 made me see that I can slow down and do more relaxing while I’m at Disney and still have a good time.

Next up will be my favorite moments from my trip in March 2021! °O°
